Our products are freeze-dried to promote stability all the way into the gut where they colonize.  They do survive the stomach and duodenum.

Yes, both of our strains of probiotics are proven to colonize on the gut wall.

It is very important that the probiotics have sufficient food to consume to proliferate in the gut, and starve out the pathogenic bacteria.  Fructoolicosaccharides are the best of all the prebiotics in our opinion.  Unlike inulin, often sourced from chicory (And is sometimes mislabeled as FOS), true FOS does a fantastic job of giving a constant food source to the probiotics.  FOS is also immensely stable and will actually exponentially increase the probiotic count in your gut with or without actually taking any probiotics.  By having both probiotics and prebiotics in VITAFORCE, you are getting synergistic benefits.

Indeed, the DDS-1 strain is one of the most heavily studied and most beneficial strains ever introduced.  Studies indicate that the DDS-1 strain:

  • Inhibits production of Heliobacter pylori
  • Inhibits the growth of 23 toxic microorganisms
  • May aid in alleviation of “traveler’s diarrhea” and constipation
  • May aid in reducing lactose intolerance
  • May aid in relief of dermatitis and other skin disorders

Many strains of lactobacillus acidphilus and others have never been shown to have any benefit to humans in studies.  Since there are a very high number of strains for each probiotic made, you have to be careful.

Generally speaking, you should be taking in at least 1 billion high quality probiotics a day to achieve the health benefits associated with them.  Probiotics may help improve your digestion and assimilation.

But if you take too much at once (in excess of 5 billion), you may very well notice stomach discomfort, gas, constipation, diarrhea or other uncomfortable side effects.  As with all things, more is not necessarily better.  The right amount is best.

The only reason to take more than 1 to 5 billion probiotics daily is if you have a medical need to take them.  Otherwise, a comfortable maintenance dose of 1 to 5 billion per day is plenty.
